I can’t promise that I’ll never hurt you or make you angry. In fact, I can tell you now that there will be times where I’m stubborn or distant and you’ll find it incredibly hard to deal with me.

But once I’m yours, I’m yours and I’ll never take you for granted. I know how much thought you put into the nice things you do and say and I’ll appreciate all of it. I’ll make you food at 3 am because, unlike you, I am an excellent cook. I’ll force you into taking an insufferable amount of pictures so I can show everyone how gorgeous you are. I’ll make you stupid mix CD’s filled with songs that remind me of you just because I can.

So no, I won’t be easy to love and I’ll probably drive you crazy. But I promise that I’ll fight very hard for a spot in your life.

“She is not perfect. You are not perfect. The question is whether or not you are perfect for each other.” Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting (1997)

1. Your skin may never be perfect, and that’s okay.

2. Life is too short not to have the underwear, the coffee, and the haircut you want.

3. Everyone (including your family, your coworkers, and your best friend) will talk about you behind your back, and you’ll talk about them too. It doesn’t mean you don’t love each other.

4. It’s okay to spend money on things that make you happy.

5. Sometimes without fault or reason, relationships deteriorate. It will happen when you’re six, it will happen when you’re sixty. That’s life.

Five things I am trying very hard to accept. (via leunq)

“If someone were to die at the age of 63 after a lifelong battle with MS or Sickle Cell, we’d all say they were a “fighter” or an “inspiration.” But when someone dies after a lifelong battle with severe mental illness and drug addiction, we say it was a tragedy and tell everyone “don’t be like him, please seek help.” That’s bullshit. Robin Williams sought help his entire life. He saw a psychiatrist. He quit drinking. He went to rehab. He did this for decades. That’s HOW he made it to 63. For some people, 63 is a fucking miracle. I know several people who didn’t make it past 23 and I’d do anything to have 40 more years with them.”

One of the more helpful and insightful things I’ve seen about depression/suicide in the last couple of days.

But as a general rule people don’t die from ms. They have like a slightly lesser life expectancy than most people. If you’re gonna use examples of illnesses probably don’t use ones that have really high mental illness rates and really low death rates.

This isn’t a jab at anyone who’s posted this. I get what it’s saying. It’s just a bad example of another illness that is widely known of but not very understood by people.

“Don’t think too high of anyone. A person is a person. No matter how perfect they may appear, none are flawless on this earth. Don’t think someone can understand you more than you understand yourself. Don’t seek completeness through a soulmate or a friend. No one can possibly bring you happiness. When we expect someone to fill us with joy, we tend to get disappointed as they fill us with sadness. Sometimes our imagination plays tricks on us by creating the perfect picture of that particular person; when in reality that person may not care about you at all.” (via venusinleather)

“When i’m with you, i feel a sense of security, like you’re protecting me no matter what happens. when i’m with you, i feel happy to know you because if i didn’t, i don’t know how my life would be. when i’m with you, the rest of the world doesn’t mean anything to me. as long as you’re with me, then everything’s fine.” thelovenotebook (via thelovenotebook)
